Karen Poehnelt of the Abbotsford High School has been named the Betty Crocker
Homemaker at her school. She was selected as the top girl from her school on the
basis of a test given in December on homemaking knowledge and attitudes. Each
local winner will receive a silver charm from General Mills, sponsor of the
program. The test papers will then be judged on a state level, with the top
prize of a $1.500 scholarship and a chance to vie for national honors.
