A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. Rev. Leo Johnson will officiate, and burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Dorothy Violet Stowe was born on Feb. 18, 1922, in the town of Beaver, rural Unity, the daughter of John B. and Marian (nee Geisler) Stowe. She was raised on the family farm and received her education at Oak Grove School. After completing her education, Dorothy was a caretaker for a neighboring family, doing domestic work and caring for the children. She married Aloysius N. Bushman on Nov. 17, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood. Dorothy farmed with her husband, Al, and raised their family on a farm south of Greenwood until retiring in 1979, at which time they moved into Greenwood. During their retirement, they enjoyed traveling with friends and camping. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Society, and the Clark County Homemakers. Dorothy had many interests, but especially loved being with her grandchildren and family, playing cards, going to dances, her flower gardens, and cooking for her family.

She will be dearly missed by her children: Pat (Pete) Bogdonovich of Greenwood, Terri (Brad) Bauschek of Port Washington, Joan (Hugh) Christie of Greenwood, Marcia (Kevin) Duell of Loyal, Ed (Sharon) Bushman of Hayward, and Sue (Bill) Kurasz of Dubois, Wyo.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Connie Bushman of Eau Claire; one sister, Carol Bitter of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Al, on Dec. 3, 1988; her son, Steven, on Sept. 20, 2013; one grandson, Adam Christie, on Aug. 6, 2006; and one sister, Marjorie Delo, on March 8, 2013.
