Junior Kiwanian Schumacher Named (Feb - 2019)
Bailey Schumacher Named February Junior Kiwanian
Bailey Schumacher
The Neillsville Kiwanis Club announced Neillsville High School senior Bailey
Schumacher as its February Junior Kiwanian.
Schumacher, the daughter of Lydia and Ron Schumacher, was introduced to club
members at the Feb. 11 meeting. She is a member of the National Honor Society
and Spanish Honor Society. She serves as a Big Buddy.
Schumacher belongs to the Spanish and fine arts clubs, is a longtime participant
in 4-H and has been a member of the volleyball team. She also volunteers at the
Neillsville Recreation Department.
“While many senior students choose to keep their career, plans open upon
entering advanced education through college or vocational school, Schumacher has
a clear goal laid out for herself,” wrote Neillsville Kiwanian Brent Shoup in a
Feb. 19 press release.
Schumacher plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point at
Marshfield to begin general requirements. Then, she will major in nursing at
UW-Eau Claire, but will study through its Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Marshfield Site that is a part of a partnership between the university and the
Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Following certification as a registered nurse, she hopes to eventually work
toward becoming a flight nurse,” Shoup wrote. “This well-motivated student has
already gained valuable experience in the healthcare field through her
employment as a certified nursing assistant at Riverside Assisted Living.
“The Kiwanis Club is proud to have Bailey as its Junior Kiwanian and wishes her
success in her future pursuits.”
