Speck, Carl P. (14 JUN 1891 – 16 FEB 1970)
Carl P. Speck, 78, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died Monday, February 16, 1970
at the Colonial Manor, Wausau, where he had been a resident since September
1968.
The body will lie in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, until noon
Thursday when it will be taken to the First Presbyterian Church. Services will
be held at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Kenneth A. Dix of Colby officiating.
Interment will be made in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
Mr. Speck was born June 14, 1891 in Sheboygan County. He received his education
in the town of Holton (Marathon Co. Wis.) school. He was united in marriage on
June 10, 1914 to Lena Shimek, who preceded him in death August 24, 1969.
He was employed by the Soo Line railroad on the bridge crew until his
retirement.
Two sons survive him, Howard of Abbotsford and Eldred of Denton, Texas, four
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs.
Albert (Sadie) Hackel of Milan and Mrs. Charles (Dorothy) Bleuett of Milwaukee.
One daughter Mrs. Evelyn Scherer, preceded him in death.
