Miss Janice Pflanzer became the bride of Russell Reis Saturday, March 14 at St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Colby.
The one p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Frank Rushman.
Mr. and Mrs. Ted Pflanzer are the parents of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell
Reis are the groom's parents. They all are of route 1, Colby.
Maid of honor for her sister was Miss Linda Pflanzer. Best man was a friend of
the groom, John Becher. Other attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Pflanzer, both
and sister-in-law of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Miller, cousins of the
groom.
Miniature bride and ring bearers were Lisa and Teddy Archambo, niece and nephew
of the bride. Performing ushering duties were Frank Archambo, Abbotsford, and
Dennis Gonnering of Colby.
The bride's empire A-line gown had a detachable chapel sweep train of Chantilly
lace and nylon sheer over taffeta. The bodice was of lace, with mandarin lace
collar and long sheer organza Camelot sleeves with alce appliques and wide lace
cuffs. Her elbow length bouffant veil of nylon illusion were attached to a
forward headpiece of organza flowers, pearls and lace petals.
The bride carried flowers of daisies and white roses. The miniature bride was
attired identical dress to the bride and carried flowers identical to the
bride's.
The floor length demi-bell silhouette dresses of the attendants were of powder
blue georgette over taffeta. The empire bodices had mandarin collar outlined
with white Venice lace and blue satin ribbon. The long sheer bishop sleeves had
ribbon and lace trim on the cuffs. Their hair was styled in Scarlet O'Hara
ringlets, accented with blue and white streaming ribbons.
The attendants carried powder bluea dn white daisies with white roses.
Bouquets of blue and white gladiolas decorated the church altar. The children's
choir provided music for the ceremony.
The reception and dinner took place at the Colby Hotel. Dancing followed in the
evening.
The groom will graduate this year from Wisconsin State University at Eau Claire.
He is majoring in business administration. The bride is also attending the
university in Eau Claire.
The couple will make their home in Eau Claire after a wedding trip through
southern Wisconsin.
Guests at the wedding festivities came from Upland, California, Excelsior,
Minnesota, Arlington Heights, Illinois, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Merrillan,
Granton, Wausau, Edgar, Athens, Stevens Point, Mosinee, Unity, Green Bay,
Marshfield, Abbotsford and Colby.
