Singstock, William G. (17 Jan 1887 – 4 APR 1970)
William Singstock, 83, Unity (Clark Co., Wis.), died at 1:45 Saturday morning,
April 4, 1970, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ted Baumgart, in Unity. He had
been ill for several months.
The Rev. Arthur Rasch officiated at services Tuesday, April 7 at St. Paul's
Lutheran Church at Green Grove. Interment was made in the Green Grove Cemetery.
The Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
William Gustav Singstock was born at Caledonia in Waupaca County, Wisconsin on
January 17, 1887. He came to this area with his family in 1902. On April 27,
1915 he married Florence Gridel at Dorchester.
As a young man Mr. Singstock worked in this area as a cheesemaker. After the
death of his wife in February 1920, he settled on a farm four miels west of
Colby and spent most of the rest of his life there.
From 1953 to 1962 he worked with his son-in-law at the D-X Station. The last
couple of years he lived with his daughter in Unity.
Mr. Singstock was a board member of the town of Colby (Clark Co.). Hew as a
member of St. Paul's Church in Green Grove.
Surviving are two daughters. They are Mrs. Otto (Florence) Zarnke of Milwaukee,
and Mrs. Ted (Violet) Baumgart of Unity. There are 10 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.
One son, Roy, died in 1967.
