Koeppen, Frieda A. (6 JAN 1900 – 05 APR 1970)
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 8, 1970 at Zion Lutheran Church
in Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) for Frieda Anne Koeppen, 70. She died early Sunday
morning at her home in Colby.
The 2 p.m. services were conducted by the Rev. David Pankow. Interment was made
in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Lulloff Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Born in the town of Hull, Marathon County, Wisconsin, on January 6, 1900, Frieda
Anne Werner was married to Otto Koeppen on November 27, 1918. They farmed in the
town of Colby (Clark Co.) until retirement in 1945, when they moved to Colby.
A member of Zion Lutheran Church, Mrs. Koeppen was affiliated with the Ladies'
Aid and Sewing Circle.
Surviving children are Mrs. Fred (Leona) Zassenhaus, Mrs. Wesley (Violet) Frome,
and Mr.s Jerry (Wynola) Vrana, all of Colby, Mrs. Harvey (June) Neuhaus and
Lavern Koeppen of Sheboygan, and Ken Koeppen of Snohomish, Washington. There are
19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
One sister and six brothers survive. They are Mrs. William (Adelia) Gerlach,
Sheboygan Falls, Paul and Alvin of Wells, Minnesota, Marvin of Fairmont,
Minnesota, Arnold of Edmonds, Washington, and Reinhold of Sheboygan.
One brother and one sister are deceased.
