Marschke, Janet L. (28 NOV 1944 – 24 APR 1970)
Mrs. Janet Marschke, 25, the former Janet Svoboda, died Friday morning at St.
Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield. She had been in ill health for the past year.
A general rosary was said at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby at 8 p.m. Monday.
Funeral services were Tuesday, April 28, 1970, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. John Olson officiated at the services. Burial
was made in St. Mary's Cemetery.
The former Janet Lenore Svoboda was born at Marshfield November 28, 1944. She
was educated at St. Mary's Elementary School and Colby High School. She received
a Bachelor of Education degree from Wisconsin State University, Stevens Point.
Her marriage to Kenneth Marschke took place June 18, 1966, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Colby. After her marriage she taught in the D.G. Jones
Elementary School in Wausau until February of this years. During that time she
was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Wausau.
Survivors include her husband, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Svoboda of
Colby, and two brothers. They are Richard, who is in the Air Force in Seoul,
Korea, and Robert of Abbotsford.
Mrs. Josephine Kugel, Colby, maternal grandmother of Mrs. Marschke, also
survives.
