Scharine, Patricia Mae (25 APR 1970)

The First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater was the scene of the wedding of Patricia May Scharine, route 3, Whitewater, and Ronald L. Dums, Colby. The April 25, 1970, 2 p.m. ceremony was performed by Pastor Kobs.

The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Scharine of route 3, Whitewater. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Dums, Colby (Clark Co., Wis.).

Soloist Marietta Petrini sang "If Ever I Leave You" and "O Perfect Love."

The bride was seen in a white organza Victorian styled gown with long lantern sleeves. It featured a high collard and a detachable chapel train. Venice lace detailed the hem, sleeves and neckline. A blue satin ribbon accented the empire waistline.

A profile organza bonnet with tiny blue and white flowers held her chapel veil of silk illusion. She carried flowers of blue daisies, white roses, and baby's breath.

Carrying a bsket of white daisies and blue pompons, was the matron of honor, Mrs. John Heine, Janesville. Other attendants to the bride were Mrs. George Phillips, Janesville, Miss Pam Tratt and Mrs. Mike Kokoszka, both of Whitewater, and Miss Joyce Dums, Colby. Their baskets of flowers were blue daisies and white pompons.

The bride's attendants were attired in satin organza gowns with cowl collars and long sheer sleeves. Satin bands were used at the waists of the blue chiffon over satin skirts, detailed with buttons at the fronts. They wore picture hats of blue.

Gary Dums, Colby, was the best man for his brother. Groomsmen were John Heine, Janesville, John Becherer, La Crosse, Jim Morrow of Colby, brother-in-law of the groom, and Paul Cabelka of Whtiewater.

Gordy Dresdow of Janesville, Favid Dresdow of Elkhorn, and Dan and Rich Dums of Colby performed the ushering duties.

A reception for 300 guests was at Harmony Hall in Whitewater.

The bridegroom is presently a student at Wisconsin Sate University in Whitewater. He is a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.

The bride is employed by Wisconsin Telephone Company.

The couple will be making their home in Whitewater.
