At a 1:30 p.m. wedding ceremony on May 2, 1970, Albert Weix gave his daughter,
Donna Mae, Marshfield, in marriage to Duwayne Franson of Pittsville. Parents of
the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Albert Weix of Colby(Clark Co., Wis.)and Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Franson of Pittsville.
The ceremony witnessed by Father Francis Rushman, took place at St. Mary's
Catholic Church in Colby.
The groom was the soloist for "Ave Maria", with Mrs. Copling accompanying him.
Matron of honor for the bride was Mrs. Lorraine McNamee of Pittsville. Other
attendants were Lynn Weix of Eau Claire and Lou Ann Rueden of Marshfield.
David McNamee was the best man and groomsmen were Arnie Lueth and Larry Weix.
Performing ushering duties were Joe Weix and Teddy Smith.
Renee Kipp and Burrill Smith served the couple as flower girl and ring bearer.
The bride's gown of Angel skin peau was designed with Chantilly lace. Clusters
of seed pearls accented the dress. She carried long line clusters of stephanotis
and miniature roses surrounded by glacier ivy.
The aqua gowns of the bridal aides were of chiffon. A daisy band accented the
empire waists. Their headpieces were trimmed with petals of bead strands and
flowers. Their flowers of peppermint carnations, gaiety roses and baby's breath
were featured in colonial bouquets.
The couple greeted guests at the Colby City Hall for a repletion. A supper was
served at St. Mary's gym and dancing followed at the city all in the evening.
The bride attended Colby High School and is employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in
Marshfield.
The groom attended Pittsville High School, is a patrolman helper for the Wood
County road department.
The newlyweds will be making their home in Pittsville.
