Peterson, Wallace “Pete” Edward (26 July 1935 – 21 March 2019) With Flag
Wallace “Pete” E. Peterson, 83, of Neillsville, died on Thursday, March 21, 2019
at the House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Wallace Edward Peterson was born on July 26, 1935 the son of Alvin and Odette
(Clark) Peterson in Eau Claire. After his schooling in Fairchild, he joined the
United States Air Force. He served 20 years as an Airplane and Missile Mechanic
while stationed in Iceland and the UK and many various locations. Pete retired
as a TSGT and he was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal. He continued to
serve in the Air Force Reserves after his retirement.
He was united in marriage to Sandra Jean Radar on September 2, 1955. Sandra died
on March 29, 1976. He was united in marriage to Gail Edwards on May 11, 1981.
Together they farmed in the Town of Levis near Neillsville. Gail died on March
8, 2017.
Pete will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his love of fishing,
including Smelting in the spring and hunting, camping, boating, spoiling his
grandkids and “wrenching” with his daughters. He also loved to watch the Green
Bay Packers and reading Westerns.
Pete will be missed by his children; Julie (Charlie) Cooper of Greenwood, Robin
Peterson of CA, James (Dana) King of Green Bay, Dan Peterson of Oshkosh, Deb
Boucher and Beryl Peterson both of Neillsville, his grandchildren; Chad, Mandrea,
Kandice, Sean, Robin, Devon, Amber, Glenn, Brandon, Justin, John, Sarah, Eli,
Blake, Jared and Connor and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by
siblings; Claire Pettis of CO, Glen (Carol) Peterson of Woodstock, GA and Kathy
(Arnold) Thur of Neillsville, and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents, his wives, Sandra and Gail and brothers:
Richard and Leonard.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019 at
the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville.
