Federal Forest timber contracts for this season call for a total of the
equivalent of 4,019,000 feet of lumber in the Medford or Mondeaux unit of
Chequamegon National Forest.
Ranger Dell Isch has handled sales numbering 88 since last fall, representing
contracts with something over 80 individual loggers and farmers.
These contracts have ranged all the way from cutting a few hundred posts to
cutting large amounts of pulpwood or saw logs.
So far, seven contracts of the 88 have been completed.
