Two passengers in a car driven by Donald Hanson, 18, Medford, route 3, were
taken to Memorial Hospital, Medford for treatment of injuries sustained a mishap
reported at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, 7 miles northwest of Medford on county trunk E.
Gene Ekdahl, 18, Dorchester, received cuts to his face and hand and Terry
Berger, 17, Medford, route 3, sustained bruised to his right arm.
According to the report, Hanson was traveling north and lost control of the auto
as he swerved to the let in order to pass a horse and buggy. The auto went off
the right side of the roadway and came to rest on its side 33 feet from the
ditch. Damage to the Hanson auto was set at $800, but no damage was reported to
the horse and buggy belonging to Henry Mast, Medford, route 3.
