Austin, Lawrence E. Jr. (20 JAN 1937 - 13 MAR 2019)

Lawrence E. Austin, Jr., 82 of Ladysmith, WI died Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at his home.

He is survived by 6 children: Anthony & Sally of Sheldon, WI; Teresa & Eric Lemon of Ladysmith; Cecil Austin and Ray Boris of Ladysmith; Amanda and Burl Smith of Ladysmith; Sonia Austin of Ladysmith; Malia & Chris Alexander of Ladysmith; 13 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and sister Gloria Austin of Cornell, WI.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter Brittany, brother Walter and 3 sisters: Nora, Doris and Shirley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith with Cliff Koehler officiating. Friends may call on Thursday at the funeral home for an hour prior to the service.

Lawrence E. Austin, Jr., 82 of Ladysmith, died at his home on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, after a 15 month battle with cancer.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1937, in Eau Claire, to Lawrence E. and Sophrona A. (Crouper) Austin, Sr.. When still a child, the family moved from Eau Claire to Cornell. Lawrence then moved from Cornell to Ladysmith in 1968. Through the years, he worked at the Sash & Door Company in Hawkins, Norco and finally JELD-WEN before retiring.

When younger, he loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Lawrence loved his family greatly.
Lawrence is survived by his six children: Anthony (Sally) Austin of Sheldon, Teresa (Eric) Lemon of Ladysmith, Cecil Austin (Ray) Boris of Ladysmith, Amanda (Burl) Smith of Ladysmith, Sonia Austin of Ladysmith and Malia (Chris) Alexander of Ladysmith; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and sister, Gloria Austin of Cornell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Brittany; brother, Walter and three sisters, Nora, Doris and Shirley.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 21, at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Ladysmith with Cliff Koehler officiating. The Austin family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday for one hour prior to the service.
