Hingiss, Henry (8 AUG 1896 – 21 MAY 1970)
Funeral services for Henry Hingiss, 73, Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), who died
Thursday morning, May 21, 1970, at the hospital at Edgerton, were held Monday
afternoon.
The Rev. Kenneth Dix of Colby officiated at the 1:30 o'clock rites, during which
Mrs. Allen Duvall of Colby sand "Faith of Our Fathers" and "The Lord is My
Shepherd," with Mrs. Eugene Strathman of Abbotsford as organist and accompanist.
Military rites were conducted by the Abbotsford American Legion at the graveside
in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The pallbearers were Lowell Dorn, Ole J. Hanson,
Peter Hanson, Ted Hoeft, Erwin Martens, and Ed Voge.
Mr. Hingiss was born August 8, 1896, at Curtiss (Clark Co.) and was married at
Waupaca November 8, 1928, to Iva Harvey.
After their marriage the couple farmed in the town of Mayville (Clark Co.) until
1950, when they retired and moved to Abbotsford. Mrs. Hingiss died in 1966.
He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Frist Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two children, Mrs. Gerald (Margaret) Hall, Janesville, and
Melvin, Milwaukee; a grandchild, Jeffrey; two brothers, Edwad and Walter, both
of Milwaukee, and four sisters, Mrs. Ben (Elsie) Tichey of Phoenix, Arizona,
Mrs. James (Hattie) Vesley, Bedford, Ohio, Mrs. Stanley (Edith) Honsa,
Cleveland, Ohio, and Mrs. Leda Ahlhorn, Baraboo.
All of the sisters and brothers were here for the funeral.
