Grambort, Edwin (5 JUN 1908 – 30 MAY 1970)
Edwin Grambort, 61, died Saturday evening, May 30, 1970 of a heart attack at his
home in Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.). He had been in ill health for several
years.
Funeral services were at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby on Wednesday, June 3 at 3
p.m. The Rev. David Pankow officiated at the services. Interment was made in the
Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby was in charge of arrangements.
Edwin Grambort was born in Colby on June 5, 1908. After attending Colby schools
he worked for 17 years at the First National Bank in Chicago. He worked as a
bookkeeper for Christensen Sales Company at Abbotsford, but most of the time he
operated taverns in the area, including Snook's Tavern and Duke's Bowling Alley
in Abbotsford.
He was married to Margaret Leichtnam on September 6, 1948, in Dorchester. His
wife and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grambort, survive.
Five children survive, Mrs. James (Mary) Wehrman of Abbotsford, and Robert,
Patricia, Susan and Scott, at home. There is one grandchild.
Three sisters, Mrs. E.W. (Toni) Doyle) of Chicago, Edna of San Francisco, and
Mrs. Lester (Doris) Guetchos of Stevens Point, and brothers, Fred of Chicago,
Hubert of Ashland, and Everett of Kalamazoo, Michigan, survive.
Preceding him in death are two brothers and two sisters.
