Frenette, France J. "Fran" (25 Feb 1955 – 1 DEC 2018)
Frances Jo “Fran” Frenette, 63, crossed over to be with our Almighty Father and
His Son Jesus Christ on Saturday evening, Dec. 1, 2018, at her home in rural
Greenwood. A celebration (party) in Fran’s honor will be held on Saturday, June
15, at her home, W7705 Cloverdale Rd., Greenwood, beginning around 1 p.m.
Franny Bounds was born on Feb. 25, 1955, in Albany, N.Y., to Francis and Exilda
(nee Barcomb) Bounds. She attended Westmere elementary, middle and high school
at Guilderland High School of Guilderland, N.Y., all in the Albany area. She
worked several jobs during her school years, including the Golden Krust Bakery
in the Stuyvesant Plaza on Western Ave., Albany. After graduation in 1974, she
moved to Plattsburgh, N.Y., to work for Sterling Optical at the Plattsburgh
Mall. There she met Sgt. William “Willy/Bill” Frenette, from Thorp, who was
stationed at Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Fran and Bill were married on Sept. 13,
1975, at St. Margert Mary’s of Albany, with a reception and dance in her
sister’s backyard … very nice. Made it 43 plus years. After separation from the
Air Force, the Frenettes relocated to Bill’s home area in Wisconsin. Some of
Franny’s many jobs over the years included: Rogers Men’s Wear at the Thunderbird
Mall in Menomonie; The Horseshoe Inn of Wheeler (before and after fi re of
1977-78); Clark County Health Care Center of Owen; CESA 10 and the Thorp Public
School system; U.S. Census Bureau; The Silver Dollar tavern of rural Thorp; and
Dale’s North Mound. But her most important job was that of mother to her two
sons: Joseph William and John Richard. Fran also helped bring the area’s
educational opportunities for all into the 20th century by educating herself and
the school system on the laws that apply to all students. She also was a foster
grandparent at Thorp Elementary and started the fi fth-grade “Pen Pal” project
there. Fran was definitely one-of-a-kind, sweet and ferocious. She was
especially proud to be “Nana” to her two bubalas, Malachi Paul and Emerson John
Frenette. She is sadly missed by us all, but wants you to know that God is much
bigger than the internet. So remember her fondly and think of her often. As the
lyrics from “Last Kiss” by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers say, “She’s gone to
heaven so I have to be good, so I can see my baby when I leave this world.”
Fran has joined her nephew, Johnny Bounds, and her parents, grandparents,
in-laws, aunts, uncles, and many others who have crossed over to the spirit
world.
She is survived by husband, Bill; son John and grandkids Malachi and Emerson of
rural Greenwood, and son Joe and Mindy (Smith) Frenette of Willard-Mead Lake;
brothers John and Patrica Bounds, of Schenectady, N.Y., and Ed and Patti Bounds,
of Concord, N.C.; sister Mary and Jon Henriksen of Las Vegas, Nev.; nieces:
Sandy and Bob Sponable of Schenectady, N.Y., Holley Frenette of Thorp, Amy
Theisen of Las Vegas, Nev., Gina Frenette of Mondovi, Janine and Jason Pearce of
Round Rock, Texas, Tina and Paul Narula of Las Vegas Nev., Jesica Becker of
South Carolina, and Faith Bounds of North Carolina; nephew Ken Engle of North
Carolina; and in-laws Joaini Frenette (Rick) Cornell of Corvallis, Mont., Jeff
and Sara Frenette of Mondovi, and Dick Frenette of Thorp; and grand-nieces and
grand-nephews.
