Nedry, Fern Margarette (9 April 1895-24 Jul 1973)
MONMOUTH--Fern Margarette Nedry, 78, of 130 16th St, died Tuesday at
her home.
Born in Medford, Wisconsin, she moved to Albany in 1935, where she
and her late husband, Jay, operated the Red Top Restaurant, until moving
to Monmouth in 1946, where they operated the Fern Cafe.
Surviving are two daughters, Mae Hooper, Dallas, and Frances Burns of
Hermiston; sons, Jay of Albany and Ray of Independence; sisters Fay
Showers, Seattle, Washington, Dorothy Quinn and Francis Forsythe of
Salem; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday in Parmenter Mortuary in Independence, with
interment at Fir Crest Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made
to the Heart Fund.
Note: The obit says that Fern was born in Medford, Wisconsin. Fern and
her sisters were the daughters of Edwin and Mae (Bowerman) Parker.
Except for Dorothy, they were born in Greenwood (Clark Co.), Wisconsin and later
the
family moved to Medford.
