Domagala, Anthony (17 JAN 1922 - 20 MAR 2019)

Anthony Domagala, 97, Cornell, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Cornell Health Services.

Anthony was born Jan. 17, 1922, the son of Simon and Sophia (Buksa) Domagala, in Minneapolis, Minn.

He grew up in Holcombe, on the family farm and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his enlistment, he served in various locations, including Europe, Africa and the Mediterranean.
After his honorable discharge from the army, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Hetchler Sept. 4, 1946, in Chippewa Falls.

Together, they farmed for many years, and also renovated various properties, until his retirement. He then settled in Cornell, where he continued to live independently, up until his passing. Anthony enjoyed gardening and playing cards.

He is survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife – Dorothy; his parents; and five siblings – Jane Newbury, Sophia Sikora, John Domagala, Mary Skrypk and Helen Erdman.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Borton-Leiser Funeral Home in Cornell, with Pastor Greg Sima officiating. Interment followed the service, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Holcombe.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service, Tuesday, at the funeral home.
