Miss Mary Lamont, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Angus Lamont, Colby (Clark Co.,
Wis.), is presently enrolled in the University of the Pacific at Stockton,
California, where she is participating in the WICHE (Western Interstate
Commission for Higher Education) program. Fifty-four students from all over the
United States were selected to participate in the summer work/study program. The
students attended classes for a week, and were then place in job placements in
the field of mental health. Mary is working with the mentally retarded at Agnew
State Hospital in San Jose, California. After working for eight weeks there, she
will return to Stockton for another week of classes at the University of
Pacific. Upon her return home, Mary will resume her studies at UW, Eau Claire,
where she is in her junior year, majoring in Social Welfare.
