Johnson, Mary Ann (8 AUG 1970)

Miss Mary Ann Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert C. Johnson, 307 East 3rd Street, Marshfield, and James Joseph Sterzinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris M. Sterzinger Sr. of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged marriage promises Saturday, August 8, 1970.

Mr. Johnson gave his daughter in marriage at the ceremony held at St. John the Baptist Church, Marshfield, at 1:30, with Father Passehl officiating. Miss Mary Folz was the organist and Greg Kleinzle was the soloist at the nuptial mass.

The bride was seen in a white floor length gown of organza over taffeta, with a belted waistline. The bodice was overlaid with Alencon lace and seed pearls with full length selves of Alencon lace. A Juliet headpiece of organza over lace held her French illusion fingertip veil. She carried a colonial bouquet of garden flowers.

Three different shades or orchid were chosen for the bridesmaids dress, which were fashioned of nylon with flocked daisies. The bride's attendants wore picture hats and carried white baskets of garden flowers.

Sisters and brothers of the bride and groom served as attendants and ushers at the wedding.

Miss Kris Johnson of Marshfield was the maid of honor. Miss Carol Johnson of Milwaukee and Miss Laurie Sterzinger of Colby were the bridesmaids. Lt. Steven R. Sterzinger of Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Mississippi, was the best man. Gerald Sterzinger of Colby and Paul H. Johnson of Milwaukee were the groomsmen. Robert Sterzinger of Santa Monica, California, was the lector, and Wayne and Gary Sterzinger and Philip Johnson were the ushers.

Following the ceremony a buffet luncheon and garden reception were held at the home of the bride's parents.

The bride, a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School, was employed by Dr. Robert A. Kay, orthodontist.

The groom graduated from the Colby High School in 1966, is a senior at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and will be intern teaching at White Bear, Minnesota. The address of the newlyweds will be Hillcrest Viking Village, St. Paul, Minnesota.
