Miller, Ross (6 August 1883-30 Mar 1939)

Pierre, March 31--Ross Miller, 56, engineer for the South Dakota
board of railroad commissioners for the last 23 years, died in his home
late yesterday of a heart ailment.

Prior to joining the staff of the railroad commission, Miller was
employed for 14 years on the North Western railroad construction force.

Surviving are the widow (Marie Vance) and a daughter, Marcia, who is
attending the University of Southern California.

Added Update, April 2: Funeral services for Ross Miller, 58 veteran
engineer for the state railroad commission, who died late Thursday, will
be Monday in the Episcopal church here, Rev. H. T. Praed will officiate.
The body will be sent to Huron for burial

Ross Miller was the son of Thomas Miller and Olive Honeywell, brother
of Rose Miller and Gordon Miller. There is a conflict on his birth.
Different sources say 1883 and 1887. Birth place is assumed to be
Greenwood, Wisconsin as that was where the family was living at the
time. Ross went to live with his sister Rose in Appleton at the time of
his parents' deaths.
