Smith, Carrie (16 November 1894-11 August 1987)
LOYAL- Services for formr Loyal resident, Mrs. Carrie Smith, 92, who
died Wednesday morning at the Colonial House Living Center, Colby have
been changed to Saturday at the United Methodist Church, Loyal.
The Rev. C. Arlene Denzer will officiate and burial will be in the
Loyal Cemetery. Relatives will be pallbearers.
Visitation will be at the Rinka Funeral until time of services.
She was born November 16, 1894 in Spencer, to Charles and Barbara
Vanderhoof. She attended Veefkind schools.
She was married to Archie Smith June 10, 1917, at Neillsville. They
farmed in the town of Sherman, and later moved to Loyal. Her husband
died in 1964. For the past three and a half years, she has resided in
nursing homes.
She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America and Birthday Circle.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Evelyn) Strey of Spencer;
seven grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three brothers, a sister and a
great-granddaughter.
