Neidhold, Fred W. (23 JUN 1891 – 14 AUG 1970)
Fred W. Neidhold, 79, of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.), died Friday, August 14,
1970, at 6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, after a long illness.
The body lay in state at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and at noon
Monday was taken to Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, where services were then
held at 2 o'clock, with Rev. F. H. Sprengler officiating.
Military rites were also conducted for Mr. Neidhold, who served in the Navy
during World War I.
The pallbearers for the interment made in the Abbotsford Cemetery were Jerry
Neidhold, Jon Neidhold, Robert, Neidhold, Ronald Neidhold, Dale Ridderbusch and
Donald Gudmundson.
Frederick William Neidhold was born June 23, 1891 in Oshkosh. He was employed in
Chicago for 35 years, and went on retirement July 1, 1956.
He was married in Chicago to Ellenora Nixdorf in 1928.
While in Chicago, Mr. Neidhold was active in church work and cub scouts and boy
scouts, and was a member of the Three Links American Legion Post at Chicago. He
later joined the Hanson-Terrio American Legion Post at Abbotsford.
The Neidholds bought a farm house two miles east and one mile north of
Abbotsford, and moved their August 1, 1956. In 1962 they sold it and moved to
Abbotsford.
Mr. Neidhold was active in church work and served on the board of Christ
Lutheran Church until two years ago, when his health failed. He was also a
member of the Men's Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by their two children, Mrs. William (Nanette)
Horn, Arlington Heights, Illinois, and Frederick Neidhold Jr., Austin,
Minnesota. Tehre are seven grandchildren.
Also surviving are five sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Eva Wolf of Chicago,
Mrs. Fred (Viola) Ridderbusch and John Neidhold of Abbotsford, Mrs. Russell
(Faye) Anderson of Waupaca, Mrs. Malcolm (Iris) Larson and Alvin Neidhold of
Wayauwega, Mrs. Lynd (Elaine) Marcy of Ogdensburg, and Leoanrd Neidhold of
Washington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Neidhold, three
brothers, George, David and Clarence, and two sisters, Sadie and Caroline.
