Graffunder, Ruth L. (Carlson) (9 OCT 1933 - 9 APR 2019)
Ruth L. Graffunder, age 85, of Abbotsford, passed away at Dycora Transitional
Living on Tuesday, April 9, 2019.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019, at the
Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. Interment will follow at the
Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome from 10 a.m. until
time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born on Oct. 9, 1933, the daughter of Arvid and Margaret (Gore)
Carlson. She graduated from Abbotsford High School and Taylor County Teachers
College. Ruth was united in marriage to Eugene Graffunder on Jan. 20, 1956.
Together they farmed in the Town of Holton.
Ruth was a strong woman with a strong faith. She worked hard on the farm and was
a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 63 years, Eugene of Abbotsford; three sons:
Terry Graffunder of Abbotsford, Jody (Bobbi) Graffunder of Eau Claire and Gene
(Kim) Graffunder of Sparta; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She is further survived by her three siblings: Herb (Glenda) Carlson, Edith
(Leroy) Jeske and Mae (Jack) Nelson; nieces and nephews; other relatives and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sharon Minett; her
grandson, Andy Lindberg; her brother, David Carlson; and her sister, Mary Ann
Blakeman.
