The Shopko Hometown in Abbotsford is among the 120 remaining stored to be closed
later this year as its parent company undergoes bankruptcy.
Abbotsford’s Shopko Hometown store has been located at the East Town mall since
2011, when it took the place of Pamida as part of a nationwide takeover. When
the store’s pharmacy closed in early February, it marked the first time in over
110 years that the Abbotsford area has not had a local place to get prescription
medications.
With Shopko’s departure, the mall’s largest retail space will be empty unless
another tenant moves in.
