Besides Shopko, Abbotsford’s East Town Mall will also be losing its walk-in
clinic this spring.
Aspirus Hospital has announced that its FastCare Clinic will be ceasing
operations on May 3. “With its limited scope of services, the clinic has not
thrived in a way that meets the needs of Abbotsford and surrounding communities,
so Aspirus leadership is evaluating future options in collaboration with the
city of Abbotsford,” the hospital said in a March 11 press release.
“Aspirus is committed to providing excellent, compassionate health care to the
people of Abbotsford and its surrounding communities,” said Dale Hustedt,
president of Aspirus-Medford hospital and clinics. “But first we need to
understand which services we should offer and evaluate options before we move
forward.”
City administrator Dan Grady confirmed the Aspirus representatives had been
talking to the city about building a possible full-scale clinic, but nothing
specific has been proposed at this point. “There is nothing concrete yet,” he
said. “It’s all subject to change.”
