The Rev. Bervie Scott, the new pastor of the Colby and Spencer United Methodist
Churches, will conduct his first services Sunday, September 6, 1970.
Rev. Scott succeeds the Rev. R. James Hagen, who left late in June. The
congregation was served by interim pastors during this time.
Prior to his assignment at Colby and Spencer, Rev. Scott served the United
Methodist Churches at Grantsburg, Lewis and Siren. His ministry covers a period
of 30 years, having served churches in Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, and
Wisconsin. He is a native of Evansville, Indiana.
Rev. Scott received his theological training at Garrett and Southern Methodist
University.
The Rev. and Mrs. Scott have two sons, John, who be a freshman this year at
Wisconsin State University, Eau Claire, and Martin, who lives at Mazomanie, has
served four years in the Air Force, and will be attending vocational school in
Madison.
Rev. and Mrs. Scott are now at home at the parsonage at Spencer.
