Sommers, Carl R. (5 JAN 1905 – 18 SEP 1970)
Funeral services were held Monday, September 21, 1970, for Carl Sommers, 95, of
Unity (Clark Co., Wis.).
Mr. Sommers died early Friday evening, September 18, 1970 at the Marshfield
Convalescent Center, following a lingering illness.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, with the Rev.
David Pankow officiating. Burial was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
The Lulloff Funeral Home of Colby was in charge of the arrangements.
Carl Robert Sommers was born at Unity January 5, 1905, the son of the late Bruno
and Lena Sommers.
His marriage to the former Frieda Masalk, who survives him, took place February
14, 1931, at the Peace Lutheran Church at Edgar.
The couple operated his home farm.
Mr. Sommers was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Marvin, of Unity, and a daughter,
Mrs. Tom (Elaine) Reynolds of Dorchester.. There are three grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Henry Sommers of Colby.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
