Bush, Leonard N. (9 MAY 1895 – 25 SEP 1970)
Leonard N. Bush, 75, route 1, Dorchester, died unexpectedly Friday evening at
his home.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Polnaszek Funeral
Home, Abbotsford.
Andrew Knopps, a son-in-law, officiated, and Mrs. Eugene Strathman of Abbotsford
was the organist.
Interment was made in Forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun, Wednesday morning at 11:30.
Mr. Bush was born May 9, 1895, in Dodge County. He attended school at Waupun and
the University of Wisconsin. He farmed in the Waupun area, and from 1917 to 1919
he served in the Naval Radio Service.
In 1919 he came to the town of Mayville (Clark Co., Wis.).
On November 25, 1920 he and Anna Irene Hinke were married at her home in the
town of Mayville. They made their home there and operated the farm until the
time of his death. He was active in 4-H club work for 34 years.
He was a member of the Odd Fellows of Waupun.
Mr. and Mrs. Bush celebrated their golden anniversary this past August, when
wall of their children coule be here.
He is survived by his wife, six daughter, Mrs. Harry (Vivian) Wilhelm, Chippewa
Falls,, Miss Irene Bush of Cameron, Mrs. Richard (Betty) Curry, Hong Kong, Mrs.
Andrew (Elsie) Knopps, Quinnesec, Michigan, Mrs. Mary Ann Smith, Pensacola,
Florida, Mrs. Ronald (Kathy) Gilbert, Woodland Hills, California, and three
sons, Robert, Caledonia, Minnesota, William, Napa, California, and Stanley,
Encarnacion, Paraguay.
There are 24 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. One sister, Mrs. Leora Beach of
Manitowoc, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a brother and a sister.
