Schmutzler, Louis F. ( 3 JUL 1878 – 7 OCT 1970)
Louis F. Schmutzler, 92, a former area resident (Clark Co., Wis.), died
Wednesday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been a resident
for the past three months.
Services were held Saturday at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby. Burial was
made in Colby Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Dix of the First United Church
of Christ officiated at the services.
Mr. Schmutzler was born July 3, 1878. His marriage took place November 1, 1905,
at Beaver Dam, to the former Mary A. Miller, who died in 1954.
They lived in Beaver Dam until 1919, when they moved to the Colby area where
they operated a farm. In 1941, they moved to Marshfield, where he worked at
Weyerhaeuser until retiring in 1954. He lived at Riplinger (Clark Co.) since
then.
Survivors include a son, Woodrow, of Riplinger, and a daughter, Mrs. Ormand
(Jane) Behrens of Marshfield. There are eight grandchildren and eleven
great-grandchildren. Two brothers living at Beaver Dam also survive.
