Mr. and Mrs. Matt A. Britten, route 5, Marshfield, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie A. Britten, to James F. Melvin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Melvin of Abbotsford (Clark Co., Wis.).

Miss Bitten graduated from the Wisconsin…(part of the newspaper article is missing)…a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Shew as president of the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority while a student, and was a member of the governor's commission on education and the Panhellenic Council. She is presently teaching English in the Portage school system.

Her fiancé is a senior at Wisconsin State University at Whitewater, and will be graduating in May with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.

He is a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.

An early summer wedding is being planned.
