Thompson, Glenn L. (26 JUN 1933 - 24 APR 2019)

Glenn L. Thompson, 85, of Gilman, died at the Cornell Care Center on April 24, 2019.

He was born on June 26, 1933 to the late Herman and Hazel (Topper) Thompson in Sioux Creek in Barron County, WI. Glenn went to school in a rural school in Barron Co, WI until he and his family moved to Gilman in 1947 where he then attended Gilman High School.

Glen was the second of seven children. He was a farmer all of his life, and enjoyed it. Although he had numerous health issues that limited his mobility he enjoyed woodworking in high school, and playing cards with Tic being one of his favorites.

Glen is survived by his sisters, Joyce (George) Eckstrom of Jump River, Donna (John) Backe of Iowa, Wanda Mallo of Gilman, and Beverly Broyer of California, one brother, David (LaVonne)
Thompson of Gilman, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Herbert, and his brother-in-law John Backe.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 am on Monday April 29, 2019 at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery-Chetek. Visitation will be from 5-8 on Sunday at the Plombon Funeral Home and one hour prior to services on Monday morning at the funeral home.
