Lukas, Joanne Carol (28 NOV 1970)
Miss Joanne Carol Lukas of Marshfield, daughter of Norman Lukas of Abbotsford
(Clark Co., Wis.) and the late Mrs. Lukas, and Karl Michael Merkel, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Karl W. Merkel of Marshfield, were united in marriage Saturday,
November 28, 1970 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield.
The Very Rev. Walter J. Dillenburg officiated at the 11 o'clock nuptial mass,
during which Dr. and Mrs. Robert P. Haight sang, with Ron Adler as organist.
The bride, who was presented in marriage by her father, wore a peau de soie and
Venice lace gown with chapel length train. She carried a cascade arrangement of
roses and white carnations, with camellia leaves and ivy streamers.
Mrs. Richard Merkel of Madison and David Duchow were the honor attendants. Miss
Linda Borstad of Marshfield and Thomas Merkel completed the wedding party.
Robert and Richard Merkel were ushers.
The bride's attendants were attired in rouge velvet floor length gowns with
matching bow headpieces. They carried nosegays of pink carnations and red roses.
A wedding reception and buffet followed at Westview Country Club.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Merkel are making their home at 34-B South Central Avenue,
Marshfield. The bride, a 1968 graduate of the Abbotsford High School, is
employed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.
Mr. Merkel, a 1966 graduate of Columbus High School, is an electrician.
Relatives of the bride who attended the wedding were Mr. Lukas and son, Gary,
daughter, Patricia, and Mrs. Carl Morrow, Abbotsford, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lukas
and Miss Grace Lundahl of Chicago and Miss Julie Scidmore of Colby.
