Laabs, Arthur G. (22 DEC 1885 – 10 DEC 1970)
Arthur Laabs, 84, of Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) died at the Memorial Nursing Home
in Neillsville Thursday afternoon, December 10, 1970, at 4 p.m. He had been
living at the home since October 1964.
Masonic services were held at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby on Sunday, December
13, with the Rev. Scott officiating.
Interment was made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Arthur Gustav Laabs was born in the town of Green Grove (Clark Co., Wis.) on
December 22, 1885, and attended local schools.
He married Anna Peissig at Dorchester on May 29, 1909. She died this past
October 23.
Before farming east of Colby from 1918 to 1945, Mr. Laabs was a buttermaker and
cheesemaker.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Ed (Anita) Bergstrom of Eagle River, two
grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and his brother, Ferdinand Laabs of
Pocatello, Idaho.
Six brothers and sisters are deceased.
