Sterzinger, Magdalene (8 FEB 1881 – 13 JAN 1971)
Magdalene Sterzinger, 89, died January 13, 1971 at her home in Colby (Clark Co.,
Wis.).
Funeral services were held January 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, and burial
was made in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. The Rev. Francis P. Rushman, pastor,
officiated.
A Christian Mothers Society rosary was said at 8 p.m. Friday, followed by a
general rosary at 8:30 p.m.
The former Magdalene Hainzlsperger was born in Bavaria, Germany, February 8,
1881. She came to this country with her parents to settle in Dodge County,
Wisconsin. After coming to the Colby area they lived in the town of Hull
(Marathon Co., Wis.).
She married George Sterzinger in 1902 in Colby. Her husband preceded her in
death.
Survivors include two sons, George and Arthur Sterzinger, both of Colby; a
daughter, Mrs. Ferdinand (Frances) Jicinsky, Unity; 20 grandchildren; 44
great-grandchildren; two brothers, John and Felix Hainzlsperger, both of Colby,
and four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Krueger, Mrs. Mary Bierseck, Mrs. Bertha Koenings,
and Mrs. Elizabeth Kern, all of Milwaukee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, two sons, two sisters, and
a brother.
