Meyer, Marcia (Marriage - 23 August 1975)
Camp Lucerne Chapel near Neshkoro was the setting for the August 23 wedding of
Miss Marcia Meyer and Jeff Lindow. The Rev. Norman Sylvester of the Brookfield
United Methodist Church officiated at the 2:30 p.m. single-ring ceremony, at
which the bride received an heirloom ring once owned by the groom’s
great-grandmother. A reception followed in the camp lodge.
Presented in marriage by her parents, the bride is the daughter of Arthur and
Barbara Meyer of Rt. 2 Ripon. The groom is the son of Marlyn and Mary Lindow of
Rt. 1 Chili.
A bouquet of daisies accented with cornflowers and baby’s breath complimented
the bride’s gown of polyester batiste with an interwoven design. Sheer sleeves
covered with lace were highlighted by satin buttons, as was the V-neckline, lace
bodice. Her fingertip length bridal veil was secured by a lace ribbon bow.
Gowns of gingham seersucker trimmed with contrasting gingham ribbon and styled
with eyelet puffed sleeves were worn by the bridal attendants. Mrs. Susan Meyer,
Chicago, Il., was the matron of honor, with Hope Meyer, sister of the bride, and
Suzy Lindow, sister of the groom, acting as bridesmaids. They carried baskets of
multi-colored daisies.
Attending the groom were Bill Koch, Tom Makovec and Dave Ackerman.
Musical selections included “Wedding Song,” “Bridge Over Troubled Water” and
“Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.”
The bride was honored at pre-nuptials given by the UMW Society of Immanuel
United Methodist Church, Chili, and by her grandmother, Mrs. John Bossenbrock of
Brandon.
A 1971 graduate of Ripon Senior High School and a 1975 graduate of the
University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor of science degree in physical
education, the bride is employed as a high school physical education instructor,
at Richland Center. Her husband graduated from Marshfield Senior High School in
1970 and from the UW-La Crosse in 1975 with a bachelor of science degree in
psychology and a photography minor. He is self-employed as a photographer.
The newlyweds are living a 576 Cedar St., Richland Center. They plan a wedding
trip for a later date.
