Volk, Linda Marie (12 OCT 1974)
Now living in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), where they established their home
after an Upper Michigan honeymoon, are Mr. and Mrs. James Roger Schiszik, who
were married at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 12, 1974, by Rev. George Becker at Holy
Rosary Church, Owen.
The bride, the former Miss Linda Marie Volk, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Volk,
route 2, Withee, was given in marriage by her mother and brother, John, during a
ceremony, for which Mrs. Duane Schmitt was organist and Robert Olson, vocalist.
As the bride walked down the aisle she was seen in a white satin A-line
entrained gown and a long veil flowing from a bridal headpiece of lace. She held
a bridal bouquet.
Preceding her to the altar were her aides, Miss Jane Volk, Oshkosh, the maid of
honr, and Miss Janine Schiszik, route 1, Curtiss. Miss Donna Engel, route 2,
Withee, and Mrs. Kenneth Larson, Wausau, were bridesmaids.
They wore formal frocks of medium orange in princess styling, and matching bow
headpieces. Each had an arrangement of fall flowers, including orange and yellow
mums, with wheat.
Others in the wedding entourage were Allen Jensen, Withee, best man; Gary Engel,
Menomonee Falls, Myron Weller, Owen, and Kenneth Larson, Wausau, groomsmen, and
John Volk and Victor Schiszik, ushers.
The church ceremony was followed by a reception from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and
dinner served from 4:30 to 5:30 o'clock. The wedding dance began at 9 o'clock at
Meadowview Country Club, Owen.
The new matron, who has been employed as a cook at Norwood Health Center, is a
1973 Owen-Withee graduate of Owen-Withee High School. Her husband, who graduated
from the same high school in 1970, works for Greenwood Homes, Inc., Greenwood.
