McMillan, Clyde N. "Mac" (26 MAR 1897 – 23 NOV 1974)
Clyde Nelson "Mac" McMillan, age 77, died Saturday morning, November 23, 1974.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Howard J. Young Medical Center,
Minocqua of a heart attack. He had been visiting with friends at a deer hunting
lodge near Winchester.
Mr. McMillan was born March 26, 1897 at Two Creeks, Wisconsin. He married Sylvia
E. Rasmussen on September 30, 1922 at Medford. Mr. McMillan operated Mac's
Bakery at Bloomer from 1924 to 1937. He moved his family to Owen (Clark Co.,
Wis.) in 1937. He operated Mac's Bakery here from June 1937 until his retirement
in 1964. Mr. McMillan and his wife, Sylvia, have lived at Lake Holcombe the past
10 years.
Mr. McMillan was a member of the American Legion, joining at Medford in 1920. He
was active as a member of the 40&8, the recruiting branch of the American
Legion. He was also a member of the Lst Man's Club, the Barracks I, the Owen
Kiwanis Club, and the Owen Businessmen's Club.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia, two daughters, Myra Norris, Waukesha,
Wisconsin, Barbara Horvatin (Tony), Milwaukee; a son, Peter, Owen; a sister,
Martha Demond, LaGrange, Illinois; 10 grandchildren, and other relatives.
Cremation took place at Madison. A Memorial Fund has been established at Owen to
honor our memory of Mr. McMillan. It will be used for useful community projects.
