Carol Mauel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mauel Jr., returned for the
Christmas Holidays after attending North Carolina Central University for one
semester, as an exchange student. Students involved in the North/South Exchange
program have an opportunity to broaden their horizons in human relations,
academic programs, and career preparation while attending a black university for
one semester. She experienced a different academic, cultural and social life
style than that of her own background. While in North Carolina she toured the
state and spent a weekend in Washington, D.C. Carol will be returning to UW, La
Crosse to continue her studies in Social Work.
