Bogumill, Frank J. (2 JUN 1910 – JAN 1975)
Frank Joseph Bogumill, 64, Holcombe (Taylor Co., Wis.), route 1, a former
operator of a general store at Jump River and Hannibal, died recently at High
Plains Baptist Hospital at Amarillo, Texas.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, January 7, 1975 at the Gilman
Funeral Home, with Rev. Tom Erickson officiating. Interment took place in
Meadowbrook Cemetery, Gilman.
Serving as pallbearers were Donald Winters, John Giebel, Harold Sargeant, Gunder
Gunderson, Ray Kimpel, and Richard Gorsegner.
Mr. Bogumill was born June 2, 1910 at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and was married
there in June of 1942.
After their marriage the couple resided at Thorp until 1946, when they moved to
Jump River, where they operated a general store. In 1951 they moved to Hannibal
and operated a tavern there until 1958, when they moved to the Lake Holcombe
area and operated a resort known as Bogie's Plantation.
He owned and operated a theater in Thorp for man yeas, as well as a coin vending
machine business, with several outlets in Owen and surrounding area.
He is survived by his wife, Edna; two daughters, Virginia, Mrs. Charles Mesier,
Chippewa Falls, and Anita, Mrs. John Goebel, Gilman, and ten grandchildren.
Other survivors include a brother, Edward, Milwaukee, and four sisters,
Katherine, Mrs. Robert Blazel, Milwaukee, Pauline, Mrs. Paul Rueblen, Madison,
Elizabeth, Mrs. Tom Polnaszek, Thorp, and Mrs. Lucy Manicke, Hartland.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
