Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Shilts, who have owned and operated the Owen-Withee
Discount Center here (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) for the past three and one-half
years sold the business the 1st of May 1975 to Mr. and Mrs. William Rennie,
Withee (Clark Co.).
Bill and his wife Gladys reside at the north village limits of Withee and have
two sons, Tod, nine, and Brian, eleven. The family enjoys a common interest of
fishing, hunting and camping.
Previous to acquiring the Discount Center Mr. Rennie was employed for two years
at Teledyne Post Company, Owen, and for the past three years has been associated
with Motorola Communications and intends to still be affiliated with that firm.
He originally comes from Marathon City, while his wife is a native of Edgar.
Since being in this community she worked for some time as a clerk at the O-W
Foodliner. They like small towns and are especially happy in this community, an
important factor in their decision to purchase a business and locate here.
He is a member of the Withee Lions Club and she is a member of the Holy Rosary
Church and its Altar Society.
Mr. Shilts has accepted a position with Foremost Dairies and is hopeful of being
able to spend more time with his family.
