Even damp weather was not enough to dampen the spirits of the large crowd which
gathered at the Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) Lions Park Friday night to enjoy the
hospitality of the Owen-Withee area Chamber of Commerce.
Ten cent beers, free crackers and cheese, grilled hamburgers, bratwurst and
prime rib hot beef sandwiches were all part of Appreciation Night, an event
planned by Chamber of Commerce members to show area shoppers that their
patronage is appreciated.
A highlight of the evening was the presentation of an award to an outstanding
farm family from the Owen-Withee area. This years the winners were Mr. and Mrs.
Duane Pribbernow, who won and operated a dairy farm south of Owen.
Mr. Terry Thompson, co-chairman of the Chamber event, present the Pribbernow's
with a plaque of recognition and a gift in honor of the occasion.
Appreciation night will be an annual Chamber event, with a farm family of the
year to be selected each year. Next year the event will be held at Owen.
