Koerner, Matilda (27 FEB 1889 – 3 JUL 1975)
At two-thirty o'clock Saturday afternoon, July 5, 1975, funeral services for
Mrs. George Koerner, 86, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), were conducted from St.
Paul's Lutheran Church, Green Grove, by the Rev. Steven Hasenstein. Burial was
made at Pine Hill Cemetery, where Lyle Johnson, Niel Green, Ray Barts, Dale
Wagner, Harvey Kademan and Charles Troiebrige served as pallbearers.
Mr. Koerner passed away at the Colonial House of Colby, where she had been a
resident since September 1971.
The former Matilda Pieper was born in Juneau, Wisconsin on February 27, 1889.
She married August Sell, who preceded her in death. She remarried on the 12th of
May, 1943, when she was united in Marriage with George Koerner, who survives.
The couple farmed in the Curtiss area for many years prior to moving into the
village, where she made her home until her illness and she entered the Colonial
House. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Green Grove.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers and three sisters.
