Counsell, Mary Jane (19 Dec. 1951 – 26 Dec. 2019)
Mary Jane Counsell (nee Winchell), age 68, passed away at her home on Dec. 26,
2019, Mary was born Dec. 19, 1951 in Beaver Dam, to Martha and Cecil Winchell
and was raised in Fox Lake. She was the second youngest of 8 children.
Mary lost her mother at the young age of 15. Following, Mary lived with an older
sister and family for several years before seeking her independence. She lived
life on her own terms and loved nature, travel, a dude ranch in Texas and her
large extended family. Mary found her life partner, Charles (Charlie) Edward
Counsell and they married in 1997 in Sun City, Arizona. They made their home in
Neillsville.
Mary is survived by her sisters, Barbara Goodman and Darlene Miller of AZ,
brother Jeff (Char) Winchell of CA, step-son Jon (Julie) Counsell of
Neillsville, step-daughter Jill (Rob) Schuettpelz, 2 step-grandchildren of
Madison, nieces, nephews and cousins too many to count, friends, and her dog
Ollie.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Charlie, her parents, her brothers
Robert and Allen Winchell, and her sisters, Alice Binder and Teddy Slusser.
Sincere appreciation and gratitude go out to Mary's step-son Jon and local
neighbors and friends, for Mary's extended care and support these past few
years. Mary's physical abilities became limited and those around her became her
lifeline and afforded her the ability to stay in the home that she dearly loved.
Thank you all so very much for the kindness you've shown.
Per Mary's wishes, there will be no service. Condolences may be left on
www.Legacy.com. RIP dear Mary.
