National Foundation Names Granton Native its Board Chairperson (Wesenberg - 2020)

An individual who grew up in Granton has been chosen to serve as the chairperson of a national board.
In a press release issued Jan. 8, Simplicity Credit Union announced that Patricia Wesenberg, graduate of Granton High School, was chosen to serve as the chairperson for the National Credit Union Foundation of Directors.
“Patricia and her board colleagues provide oversight and guidance to the foundation and their mission to improve people’s financial lives through credit unions,” Simplicity’s Ben Bauers wrote in the press release.
Wesenberg has served on the foundation’s board of directors since 2015. She has served for several local and non-profit organizations, traveled internationally with the World Council of Credit Unions and served as the chairperson for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Board.
“Congratulations to Patricia Wesenberg … on becoming the chair of the NCU Foundation,” Tweeted Jim Nussle, CUNA president and CEO.
Wesenberg started her credit union career in 1981 and has been the president and CEO of the Marshfield-based Simplicity Credit Union since 1994.
