Blum, Edward J. (5 OCT 1918 – 30 JUL 1975)
Edward J. Blum, age 56, of 609 Dwight Street, Chippewa Falls, Wis., died
Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire.
He was born October 5, 1918 in Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.), son of John H. and
Minnie (Roepke) Blum. He lived in Owen (Clark Co.) during is youth, until
entering the service. Mr. Blum was a veteran of World War II, serving in the
Army Air Force from July 28, 1941 until October 29, 1945. He married Mary Ann
Miller on October 31, 1950. For almost 30 years Mr. Blum worked for the Soo Line
Railroad.
He was a member of Veteran Employees of the Soo Line Railroad and the United
Transportation Union.
Mr. Blum is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; two sons, John, with the U.S. Air
Force in Maine, and Jeffrey, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Karen
Schindler, Rt. 2, Bloomer, and Susan Blum with the U.S. Army in Germany; his
father, John H. Blum, Owen; three brothers, Karl, The Dalles, Oregon, Henry,
Manitowish Waters, and John, Austin, Minnesota; three sisters, Mrs. Lester
(Esther) Balts, Dallas, Mrs. Robert (Lois) Kohnhorst, Wausau, and Mrs. George
Finnila, owen.
He was preceded in death by his mother and one granddaughter, Funeral services
were Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Horan Funeral Home, with burial in Calvary
Cemetery.
