Jacques, Clara (22 October 1897 – 29 August 1975)

A Neillsville area resident since 1960, Mrs. Clara Jacques of Rt. 2, died Thursday, August 28, at the age of 77. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiating. Interment was in St. Mary’s parish cemetery.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Edwards, Mrs. Jacques was born October 22, 1897, at Bloomington and attended schools there. She also attended Milwaukee Downer College and a secretarial school in Madison. Her marriage to James T. Jacques took place November 30, 1921, in Madison. They farmed in the Bloomington area for a few years and then moved to Milwaukee where they lived until coming to Neillsville in 1960. Mr. Jacques preceded his wife in death on June 10, 1971.

Surviving are two sons, Robert E. Jacques of Hampton, Il., and Stanley J. Jacques of Wauwatosa, one sister, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson of Rockford, Il.; and 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
