Lewandowski, Gail (Marriage – 30 August 1975)
St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp was the setting August 30 for the wedding
of Miss Gail Lewandowski and Dan Borowski. The Rev. John Puerner officiated at
the 2 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lewandowski, Thorp,
and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Borowski, also of Thorp.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in a fitted gown of
polyester chiffon flowing into a ruffled, lace-edged cathedral train. Her
cathedral veil was held by a lace and pearl crown headpiece. She carried a white
orchid surrounded by stephanotis, baby’s breath and leatherleaf fern.
Diane Lewandowski, sister of the bride, was her maid of honor and Nanc Osowski
of Thorp and Ann Hoffman, cousin of the bride were bridesmaids. Their gowns of
soft pink Qiana were styled with sheer organza floor length sashes and sheer
capelet sleeves. Pink and white roses and baby’s breath, tied with accenting
ribbons, formed their bouquets. Joselyn Lindstrom of Chippewa Falls, the
flowergirl, wore a cream-colored gown styled identically to the bridal
attendants’ gowns.
Serving as best man was Greg Osowski, with Gary Lewandowski and Joe Borowski as
groomsmen. All are of Thorp. Steven Lewandowski and Charlie Sackman acted as
ushers. Kevin Lewandowski was the ring bearer.
The nuptial mass was played and sung by Mrs. Jerry Asbeck.
A reception at the Quonset Hall, Thorp, followed the ceremony.
The bride was honored at a prenuptial shower given by her bridesmaids.
The newlyweds, both 1973 graduates of Thorp High School, will make their home in
Fond du Lac. The new Mrs. Borowski is also a 1974 graduate of Western Wisconsin
Technical Institute-La Crosse. Her husband is employed by a building supply firm
in Lomira.
