Losiewicz, Harriet M. (1 OCT 1928 – 20 DEC 2019)
Harriet M. Losiewicz, age 91, of Thorp passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019,
at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. Funeral services were held at
10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2019, at St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic
Church in Thorp. Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu officiated, and burial followed in New
St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church, on Saturday,
from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Harriet Mary Czyzewski was born on October 1, 1928, in Lublin, WI, the daughter
of Rudolf and Stanislawa "Stella" (Wisniewski) Czyzewski. She was raised on the
family farm and received her education at area schools. She was united in
marriage to Felix Losiewicz on July 20, 1946, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church
in Lublin. They farmed in the Town of Withee, rural Thorp, for many years until
selling the farm in 1973 and moving to their home on Maple Street in Thorp.
Harriet worked as a waitress at the Dairy Bar Cafe in Thorp until its closing in
1998.
Harriet had many interests, but especially enjoyed canning, gardening, and
baking.
She was a member of St. Bernard - St. Hedwig Catholic Church and its Parish
Council of Catholic Women.
Harriet is survived by two daughters: Marilyn Eckes of Marshfield, WI and Cindy
(Bill) Rickhoff of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; two grandchildren: Kari (John)
Seaverson of Chaska, MN and Craig (Samantha) Eckes of Cedar Rapids, IA; two
great-grandchildren: Jack & Cole Seaverson; nieces, nephews, other relatives,
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Felix, on October 27,
1994; her son, David, on April 13, 2015; one sister, Leona Romanowski; and four
brothers: Mike, Joe, Henry, and Alex Czyzewski.
